Many great saxophonists practice playing the overtone series on the saxophone to strengthen their physical and aural abilities on the instrument. Practicing overtones, or harmonics, is a common altissimo exercise to train the player's ears to hear the intervals as well as their body to help to produce the tones in the altissimo range through a mastery of embouchure and breath support. The Overtone Saxophone is a great tool to practice overtones over Low Bb. Aside from the lightweight feel, which reduces stress and the air tight low Bb which is easier to produce, the Overtone saxophone is fun to own and play. The keyless design eliminates fatigue from holding down keys for a long period of time.
