We created our Flute Pad Iron to accommodate all styles of flute pads, grommet and washer sizes. The smaller of the two ends is designed to accommodate the smaller diameters of G# and Thumb Key pads on modern instruments. The edges of the iron are smooth to fit comfortably in the hand. Made from stainless steel.
To use the tool, warm up the pad iron and keep the pad skin moist to remove wrinkles on the pad after grommets or washers have been installed. Be sure to not use too much heat to avoid burning the pad skin.
