A
Student overhaul entails:
Disassembly
The
Flute is carefully disassembled. The old pads, corks and felts are
removed. Once the Flute is disassembled, the body and keys are
carefully cleaned to remove any trace of dirt, oil or debris.
Removal
of dents
Student
overhauls include minor dent removal, some dent removal may require
an added fee although this is not often the case in flute overhauls.
At MusicMedic.com we are capable of removing any dents that you may
have in your instrument. Dent work that is considered major will add
to the cost of an overhaul and will be quoted before any work is
done.
Key
Work
All key work is done as necessary to allow for a smooth feel down the length of the instrument. Key fitting is done only as needed. The head joint will be inspected for proper fit and repaired as necessary. The head joint cork will be replaced with our premium natural head cork.
Rebuild
With
the Flute in proper order, premium double skin pads as well as high
grade cork and felt are installed. The Flute will be play tested and
adjusted.
The
Overhaul process takes one week from the day that it arrives at our
